Over the past year the Roosevelt School District has had a number of Roosevelt residents involved in an apprenticeship program. Last fall, several unions representing bricklayers, steam fitters, sheet metal workers, plumbers, carpenters and other essential areas converged on the district to explain the necessary requirements and qualifications needed to become part of the program. They met with all interested parties and even assisted by steering them through the application process. JMOA Engineering went a step further and hired two graduating seniors to work in the construction office last summer. Under the program, apprentices work with experienced laborers during the day while learning their crafts at night in classrooms. For those who are interested in becoming a part of the apprenticeship program contact one of the unions listed on this website for more information.
