3 – Year Technology Plan (Goals and Strategies)
 
   

Goal 1: Enhance the teaching/learning process with a wide variety of technologies for all
students, teachers and administrators.

Goal 2: Ensure equitable and increased access in classrooms, labs, offices and library media centers to a wide variety of innovative technologies which include:

· Internet connectivity
· Web-based instruction and professional development
· Standards Based software for all content areas
· Updated computer hardware and peripherals which incorporates the idea of
· Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Goal 3: Enhance the learning environment to:
· use technology which is aligned with standards based curriculum to advance student achievement
· support teachers as facilitators of the teaching/learning process
· facilitate the implementation of interdisciplinary curriculum
· facilitate a shift of emphasis in learning from an assimilation of facts to construction of knowledge
· facilitate the extended use of library media centers

Goal 4: Integrate technology throughout the curriculum to personalize learning to:
· support student achievement of state standards in all subject areas
· accommodate different styles, intelligences and abilities
· address cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning
· enhance the creative problem solving, and critical thinking dimensions of learning

Goal 5: Extend the boundaries of the learning environment by participating in:
· video conferencing/distance learning experiences
· Internet based research, collaboration and exploration

Goal 6: Assess and measure the impact of technology on learning by:
· developing a consistent process of data collection that can be used to assess
· progress in implementing the recommendations of this plan
· providing all staff with means to access student data

Goal 7: Promote and establish effective, ongoing, professional development that will:
· model correct use of technology
· take advantage of the natural setting within the school to conduct job specific training
· respond to technology related needs of individual educators
· support continuously focused attention to identified elements in the established Technology Plan
· include a variety of incentive/responsibilities for staff to become technologically proficient
· assure continued technical competence for teachers, administrators, and support staff engaged in the educational enterprise

Goal 8: Link professional development programs to state, local and regional resources in
order to:
· foster collaboration among and between elementary/secondary education and higher education agencies at both
the instructional and administrative levels
· promote and incorporate broadly defined partnerships
· prepare a cadre of peer trainers as leaders in extending the boundaries and uses of technology in education

Goal 9: Ensure equitable access to professional development opportunities that will:
· develop or identify resources for all staff
· provide teachers with direct access to all identified resources

Goal 10: Assess and measure the impact of professional development on effective
instructional use of technology by preparing an evaluative instrument or procedure to
determine teacher integration of technology into classroom curriculum:
