The
Roosevelt Union Free School District continues to pursue technology
rich programs that integrate smoothly in all subject areas. The
district adopted the philosophy that integrating technology into
the classroom can both enhance the learning of all subjects and
develop within our students a wide range of technology skills. The
development and dissemination of new curricula so that they are
implemented well in classrooms is a multiyear process that involves
research, creation, publication, staff development, and ongoing
support.
As technology changes so will the curriculum
documents. Curriculum writing is an ongoing process and will continue
to take place through the 2008-2009 school year.
The Technology Coordinator/Department will
model best practices in technology-enhanced, project-based learning
with the student and teacher. Ultimately, the teacher will develop
a sense of independence in the use of technology. Teachers will
be afforded opportunities to learn a variety of technology skills.
